As a part of our live weekend (28-31 March 2025) we paid tribute to Johnnie Walker. Johnnie had been the patron of the Pharos Trust charity, which owns the LV18 and Radio Mi Amigo, for two decades. Johnnie would have been 80 years old on Sunday 30th Marsh.
Duke Anthony produced and presented a special show on Saturday 29th March which included an exclusive interview with Johnnie’s widow Tiggy Walker. This show will be repeated at 1900 on Thursday 3rd April.

Duke also played the call between Johnnie and Keith Skues that took place, on the LV18, in August 2024. This turned out to be one of the last interviews JW took part in, although it isn’t clear who was interviewing who!
In the studio with Duke for the live show were Steve Scruton & Ian Wyatt (Pirate BBC Essex), Keith Skues (not pictured), Tim Wardley and Tony O’Neil.
Recorded interviews were from Tiggy Walker, Sara Cash (widow of Dave Cash), Tom Edwards, Roger Day, Norman St John and Emperor Rosko plus archive recordings from Pirate BBC Essex in 2004, 2007 and 2009.
This show is 2 hours long.
Produced & Presented by Duke Anthony.
Studio engineer was Shiraz Turvey.
Originally broadcast live at 1600hrs (GMT) on Saturday 29th March 2025.
The show will be rebroadcast at 1900 (BST) on Thursday 3rd April and 0100 Friday 4th April.
